Popular Chartist Day School held in Merthyr Tydfil

<<< Back

chartist1Nearly 60 Chartist enthusiasts converged on Merthyr Tydfil on April 12th to participate in a day school exploring the stories of individual communities caught up in the Chartist movement of the 1830's and 40's.

Organised by the Dic Penderyn Society, HERIAN and other chartist groups, the day school was developed by Les James, one of the researchers working on the Chartism Communities project. The day was a resounding success. Why not check out this web site for other local Chartist info: www.chartistnewport.org
