| The Civic Trust in Wales is inviting owners and managers of sites and buildings of architectural or historic importance to take part in Open Doors 2008, the largest ever celebration of heritage and architecture in Wales. Perhaps you could you let people visit your building, or provide a guided walk or talk or put on a concert in an unusual venue?

| A sonic installation by Wales based artist Abby Sohn, is the result of an extensive research project into the industrial remains of the disused Barry Railway line from Trehafod to Barry Island. Sohn's work explores how to employ the peculiarities of specific places found along this disused route in order to create a lyrical and meditative language.

These are just some of the findings of a survey which coincides with the official launch of the History Matters celebration this week. |

| A survey published today suggests that Welsh people are far more interested in History than Sport. 68% of Welsh people questioned say they are interested in History, but, only 55% said they were interested in Sport. An even smaller number - 32% were interested in Football. |
