Loops and Links
When: 16 Nov 2007

Work is nearing completion on a major scheme to develop new cycleway links and improve access into towns, villages and tourist attractions across the Caerphilly county borough.

Cycle networks skirt around most local communities and one of the main aims of the 'Loops and Links' scheme is to open up better access points along the route. The works form part of the Mid Valley's Rural Village Strategy and a number of 'links' have already been enhanced.

Our cycle routes run through some of the most spectacular countryside and by improving access, signposting and village facilities, it is hoped that even more residents and visitors will be able to enjoy the facilities while improving their health.

Community artworks along with various sympathetic village enhancements have been undertaken and these landscape proposals will boost the appearance of key areas. Unique directional signage is also located along the route providing valuable information on local village facilities and will also be interactive with the incorporation of rotating village name collars.
